Respiratory Protection

There are three types of protection level based on the concentration levels and the Workplace Exposure Limit (WEL) of the hazardous substance.

Many substances have a maximum exposure limit and the WEL defines how many times you can be over this limit.

Type Protection x WEL Description
FFP1 Non toxic dusts, oil and water based mists and fumes 4 P1 is the lowest type of protection available
FFP2 Toxic dusts, oil and water based mists and fumes 10 P2 is the most popular type of protection
FFP3 All dusts, oil and water based mists and fumes 20 P3 is the highest level of protection
